first.
Then the
dance floor.
The piano came first — more than twenty years of it, twelve of them in classical training. Scales, counterpoint, the discipline of listening closely. That foundation never left; it just changed rooms.
Somewhere between practice sessions and late nights, electronic music opened a different door. Heimat began producing deep house and melodic techno, and in 2020 graduated in Audio Engineering from SAE Institute Vancouver.
Heimat — German for a sense of home that is more feeling than place — became the name for that search. Music has since come out through Heimat Music, Sol Selectas, and Switzerland's Echoes From Venus / Schneiderei, a connection that deepens with a 2026 residency with Echoes From Venus.
Now based in Toronto, with ties to Switzerland and Vancouver, the work moves between the studio, the stage and the teaching room. Each one feeds the others: what is learned performing is passed on, and what is asked by students sharpens the music.
